Easter Part 1

Two weekends ago Quinn joined the Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood with a little help from her Grandmomma.
Note: Easter was full of LOTS of celebration for Quinn so this is multi-part blog. :-)

"Official" 6 month photo shoot

Here they are! Quinn's official 6 month photo shoot pics...very cute! Brittany's friend Lauren took them for us again (same photographer as the pic on the Christmas card) and we are incredibly pleased with them. Quinn's personality and well, her adorableness, really shined through. Here are a few of our favorites.

It's Solids Time Baby!

We are in full gear with solids in Quinnland. She's doing great with trying new foods and gets very excited when it's time to eat. Quinn is also now using her highchair from Grandmomma Great. Thank you Grandmomma Great!! Q baby is rocking that chair out, I tell ya. Seriously, she's loving it.

I'm making her food which makes me happy. I figure if I think it tastes bad, why should she eat it? So far she's eating: apples, apple/bananas, bananas, peaches (a FAV), pear (FAV), peas, carrots (FAV), sweet zucchini carrot, corn, strawberry/fig (FAV), blueberry apple, apple/pear/banana and butternut squash.  She's also tried sweet potato which was a while ago so we need to try that again and avocado. The avocado did NOT go over well...she's not a fan.

Thanks to Great Aunt Lou and Aunt Meg for the baby food cookbooks, Hope for making food with me and answering my questions about it, and my mom for answering my questions about baby food.

A "Peachy" visit

I'm talking about our visit last weekend from our wonderful friends and Katie and Ryan. They live in GA (yes, my title is lame...I'm accepting it) and drove to see us and spend the weekend getting to know Miss Quinn.

We LOVE K&R and had so much fun with them. The boys went to the football scrimmage, played golf and met up with other guys downtown for some fun. They also helped some older lady named "Mildred" get a cat out of a tree. What good Samaritans. ummm, yeah. :-/  Katie and I had a wonderful time just hanging out and catching up. I miss her SO SO SO much.

Cincy Trip and Grammy's Bday

We recently spent time in Cincy and had a great visit. Both Mike and I had to travel for work so Quinn got lots of love and attention from her Grandparents. (Ps. yes, it was very hard being away for a couple days...much harder on Momma than Quinn. And yes, we Skyped.)

During our trip we got to hang out with our CUTE CUTE nephew Jack who was so much fun. He can crawl all around and shows off his new teeth. Jack will be one in June. Quinn and Jack had to warm up to each other a little bit (who wouldn't, you can't just SHARE your toys and attention right off the bat. :-)) but by the end of the week they were big buddies. In fact, Quinn got upset when she thought Aunt Burtney (aka Brittany) was hurting/scaring Jack. Aunt Burtney was throwing him in the air and Quinn wasn't having it. She Jack was put down, Quinn held his hand to make sure  he was ok. Aunt Burtney actually did this twice and both times Quinn reacted the same way. It was crazy/cute.

And, it was a huge milestone for Grammy, her 50th birthday. Happy Birthday Grammy!!!

She was surprised by a surprise visit from her best friend Debbie whom she hadn't seen in 11 years. It.was.great. I loved it and cried like it was ME who hadn't seen Debbie. Is anyone surprised? :-)

Quinn got a bad cold and so she's not too smiley in the bday pics, but she's doing better now. It was a long couple of days but more than anything we just hated she felt so bad. You feel so helpless as a parent. But again, she's doing better now. Yay!
