Happy Birthday Quinn!!

Happy Birthday to our precious baby girl Quinn!!!

How is it that you're one year old already? This year has flown by faster than I could have imagined, weren't you just in a newborn duck onsie?

Mike and I love this baby more than anything and take in every moment with her...her laugh, smiles, curiosity, crawls, steps, "words" and kisses. There are no words to express how lucky I feel to have her in my life each day.

I will post stats after her 1 year appt next week and of course her monthly pics soon after I take her pic tomorrow.

Happy 1st Birthday Quinn!

11 Months Old

Miss Quinn Eloise Jackson is 11 months old!
How can this be? The last month before we have a one-year old. We are so happy yet a tad sad at the same time.

Quinn has three bottom teeth and the two top are coming in (we can see the ends of both of them poking through her gums...ouch). Quinn can pull up on just about anything (who am I kidding, ANYTHING) and can walk using a toy to balance herself.  She can also climb steps. We cheered when we first saw her do this but then looked at each other and wondered why we were cheering that she can climb our 17 steps...parental pride over common sense.

Quinn eats most anything we eat. We still give her homemade babyfood for lunch, but she has "big people" food for breakfast and dinner. Quinn loves water...don't even try to give her juice, girlfriend isn't having it. I kind of like that.

Our baby girl can say moo, quack and something that sounds like meow. She has said dada, mama and gaga...we're kind of thinking gaga is the cat. And speaking of Finn, Quinn can also close doors. She accidentally shut a door on his tail and he had to have a little procedure but all is well now (and she felt really bad about it...she told me).

What else is happening with our little Q babes...she can wave, clap, pat her legs, shake her head "no" (what about "yes"?), bang toys together, turn on toys, etc. She is attending a music class for tots on Mondays and so far has loved it. Quinn also likes to play peek-a-boo, dance, splash in the pool/bathtub and "chase" with daddy and mommy.

We're so proud of our little girl and blessed to be her parents. Hard to believe the next post will have "year" instead of "month"...didn't I just have this beauty?

And now for the pics!

Learning to Walk

Quinn is learning to walk. Well, more like baby steps at this point but that's what she is, a baby! (I keep telling myself that...I'm pretty sure she's closer to toddlerville.)

Here is a video of Quinn taking a few steps holding on to a car (thanks for letting us use the car, Cathy and Gordon).  Notice the abs of steel as she pushes it out and in (ab roller?) before taking a step.

Mike and I are so incredibly proud of her. Go Quinn! (uh oh, Finnigan, it's on now!)

Bath Time with Jack

During our visit to Cincinnati Quinn and Jack took a couple bath's together.
They were great and played nicely together.  It was Quinn's first time bathing with someone else and bathing without a bath chair. She thought it was fun until Jack did what little boys do (and touch their little boy parts); Q freaked and wanted out.
We of course got her right out (and laughed under our breaths). I told her she was exactly right, freak out and run away whenever you see some boy do that!! :)

Love you Jack.

bathtime, yay!

ahhh. What cuties. Love those smiles.

Just had my hair washed.

Now it's Jack's turn to get his hair washed.

why are our mommies/aunts/grammy looking at us?

At least they're funny.

Precious babies.

Quinn was not too happy with Mr. Jack. But he doesn't seem to mind!

"What's wrong with her?" - Jack. Don't worry, we got her out 2 seconds after one of us snapped this pic.

Trip to Cincinnati and 4th of July

We spend the week of 4th of July in Cincinnati with Mike's family. It was a great time to catch up with our family and for Quinn to get loved on by her Grammy, Pappa, Aunt Jenn, Uncle Matt, Aunt Burtney, Uncle Roddy and of course Jack!
As you saw from an earlier post, Quinn also learned to crawl while we were there...very fun! It's almost like she watched Jack and something just clicked. "Ohhh, so that's how you do it. I got this."
I took a ton of pics, especially of Quinn and Jack playing together.

Mike and I went to a Reds game (my first). Fun!

cute cheeks

We also went to a NASCAR race...LOVED it!!!!

Q and her baby doll. Check out the pigtails. And summer dress. It's definitely something her Mommy would wear if she could. :-)

Talking to my Grammy

We had a big conversation.

Q needed some one-on-one Grammy time. :-)

Jack pushed Quinn in the car. SO sweet.

"Here, this is how you drive the car Quinn. Wait, just get out and let me do it!"

Drivin. Notice her foot is up on the dash (of course). Oh and look at that mouth...that is a Mike Jackson look if I've ever seen one. *sigh* I think 16 years will fly by and this will be a real car before I know it.

Aunt Jenn showing her the ropes
So now that I added the pics I realize...where is Aunt Burtney?!? Quinn spent lots of time with her and Roddy but somehow I don't have pics. :(
